The Braille system is a method that is widely used by blind people to read and write. Braille was devised in 1821 by Louis Braille, a Frenchman. Each Braille character or cell is made up of six dot positions, arranged in a rectangle containing two columns of three dots each. A dot may be raised at any of the six positions to form sixty-four (26) permutations, including the arrangement in which no dots are raised. Cobolt Systems Ltd manufacture these talking clocks that are specifically designed to assist the visually impaired in their daily routines.
For reference purposes, a particular permutation may be described by naming the positions where dots are raised, the positions being universally numbered 1 to 3, from top to bottom, on the left, and 4 to 6, from top to bottom, on the right. For example, dots 1-3-4 would describe a cell with three dots raised, at the top and bottom in the left column and on top of the right column, i.e., the letter m. The lines of horizontal Braille text are separated by a space, much like visible printed text, so that the dots of one line can be differentiated from the Braille text above and below. Punctuation is represented by its own unique set of characters.
The Braille system was based on a method of communication originally developed by Charles Barbier in response to Napoleon’s demand for a code that soldiers could use to communicate silently and without light at night called night writing. Barbier’s system was too complex for soldiers to learn, and was rejected by the military. In 1821 he visited the National Institute for the Blind in Paris, France, where he met Louis Braille. Braille identified the major failing of the code, which was that the human finger could not encompass the whole symbol without moving, and so could not move rapidly from one symbol to another. His modification was to use a 6 dot cell — the Braille system — which revolutionized written communication for the blind.

Larry is not feeling 100% so if you could include him in your prayers that would be great.
We need to stand tall and be proud to be an American. Please keep all the men and women that lost their lives in this terrible act of hatred and also the one’s who just recently lost their lives. Keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Please keep all the military men and women in your thoughts and prayers as they are putting there lives on the line every day for our freedom. As you are home enjoying your family and the Holidays take a minute and thank those who have made this possible for you. If you happen to pass by a service member in uniform take a minute stop and say Thank you.
God Bless America!!!!!!!

All cards are made upon getting the order so when you place the order it will take a couple days to get the card in the mail. Remember you are not the only one placing an order so please be patient.
Also added to the site is a page with all different sayings. So if you are not sure what you want to say in the card check out the page of sayings.
Don’t forget to send that special someone a card.
Quilts are mainly made on request so if you have a pattern that you would like put into a Quilt just e-mail me and I will see what I can do. I want to thank those of you that have ordered. Please remember I sew for fun and that I am Visually Impaired so it takes me longer to complete a quilt.

Let us all work together so that we can make some big changes for the Blind/Visually Impaired community.
We cannot share this sorrow
If we haven’t grieved a while.
Nor can we feel another’s joy
Until we’ve learned to smile.
If I had a flower for every time I thought of you,
I could walk through my garden forever.
To all the days here and after
May they be filled with fond memories, happiness, and laughter.
May the best day of your past be the worst day of your future.
May you both live as long as you want,
And never want as long as you live.
Mothers [fathers] hold their children’s hands for just a little while…
And their hearts forever.
May God bless you with all of our love.
I love you not only for what you have made of yourself, but what you are making of me.
I appreciate all the things you do, and the way you show you care.
Plant a seed of friendship; reap a bouquet of happiness
Something’s missing in my life when your not around
Two souls with but a single thought, Two hearts that beat as one.
Wherever I go, whatever I do, I carry a little part of you with me right here in the center of me heart.
Friendship is when people know all about you but like you anyway
May the love we share be as timeless as the tides, and as deep as the seas.
Thank you for your (thoughtfulness/kindness),
And your caring ways;
Thank you for your friendship,
All these many days.
Just a note to tell you,
How much I love your smile;
How much I love your humor- How much I love your style.
Our love is like a diamond
Whose brilliance will not fade;
Time will never take its toll,
For it is Heaven-made.
December sees a miracle
Remembered for
special nights
We light the candles, one by one,
For the Festival of Lights.
May this Festival of Lights bring blessings upon you and All Your Loved Ones.
May Love and Light fill your home and heart at Hanukkah.
God lent us an angel, sent from Heaven above
She will fill our lives with sunshine…And our hearts with love.
May the bounty of the season fill your heart and your home.
Little words of kindness…little acts of love…bring us just a little bit of heaven from above.
When I Count My Blessings, I Count You
Love is the thread that ties us all together
She will fill our lives with sunshine…And our hearts with love.
May all your joys be pure joys,
and all your pain champagne.
Life is like a cup of tea,
it’s all in how you make it!
We cannot share this sorrow
If we haven’t grieved a while.
Nor can we feel another’s joy
Until we’ve learned to smile.
May brooks and trees and singing hills
Join in the chorus, too.
And every gentle wind that blows
Send happiness to you.
To all the days here and after
May they be filled with fond memories, happiness, and laughter
Mothers and Roses
are much the same….
Both are god’s masterpieces;
Each with a different name!
A Mother’s Love
is the tender touch,
the caring words, and the
guiding hand that we never
seem to outgrow.
A daughter
adds Beauty,
Joy and
Love to life.
A Daughter
is just a little girl
who grows up
to be a friend
The love you show, The help you give, The joy you bring, The life you live…You have been an inspiration to all of us in your family
God gave me friends to share my day’s My good times and bad; Close friends who make my life worthwhile When I feel lost or sad.
On Your Anniversary
